Freak Alley, Boise, ID

Boise (pronounced vociferously as Boy-see by the locals) is a remarkable small city that acts like a little town, at times with aspirations to be Greenwich Village. Freak Alley is the ad hoc gonzo art impulse of such a city, squeezed into a narrow industrial canyon between city buildings. Like the rest of the city, it's surprisingly and pleasantly quirky.
