Ocracoke: The End of the Road, it's Not

It seems the role Ocracoke plays is as Hatteras's end of the road. But surely Cedar Island is more lonely still, though connected by road, just barely.

There are so many middle points content to act as ends but are not. They are just middles, eeking out some difference where inspection yields none.

You're in the middle, until you are not, and any closure otherwise, is illusion.
